Pike County Tourism Receives Award
Pike County tourism received an important award this week. During a fiscal court meeting, it’s office received the “Economic Engine Award” from the Kentucky Travel Industry Association. Nearly $115,000,000 is generated annually in the county. Hank Phillips, the President and CEO of the Kentucky Travel Association, says more counties should focus on tourism. “We’re working hard to make sure they understand how truly important it is and what it’s potential is to do more for each and every county in the commonwealth,” explained Phillips.Tourism is the third largest industry in the state.
