“Rails To Trails” In Prestonsburg

A four-year project in Prestonsburg is finally in the works. The city has purchased rail property from CSX and will be taking some rails out and replacing them with trails. The tourism department is calling the project “From Rails to Trails.” The trails will be for hiking, biking, horseback riding, and used for emergency purposes. The trail is 10.02 miles long and begins in West Prestonsburg and ends at the David School parking lot. No word on an opening date.
