Real-ID’s Coming To Kentucky

A Kentucky transportation official says the state plans to set up 12 regional offices to issue special driver’s licenses that will be needed in less than a year to board domestic airline flights.Media outlets report that the transportation official, Matt Henderson, told state lawmakers on Monday that the state eventually would like to have 28 to 30 regional offices.Henderson is vehicle regulation commissioner in the state Transportation Cabinet.The state faces an Oct. 1, 2020, federal deadline to start issuing Real ID driver’s licenses.
