Record Rainfall In Jackson

64.19″ of rain has fallen in Jackson making 2018 the wettest year on record. Average rainfall for Jackson is 46.8″ so we are about 17″ above average and we still have 12 more days to go in December. “There has never been this much rainfall ever fell in this area,” said Rich Meadors. Meadors is a farmer at Sally Gap Farms and he says the excessive amount of rainfall has ruined most of his crops. “This year here it’s been the worst one we’ve ever had,” said Meadors. And sometimes more rain is worse than no rain. “What happens when it stays so wet and so damp there is so many types of fungus and so much nematodes that gets into the ground because of that. That’s what kills the plain,” said Meadors.
