Snow, Jackknifed Semi Shuts Down US-23 in Letcher County

US-23 in Letcher County was closed for most of Friday after snow left a wintry mess on the roadway.

The slick road caused a tractor-trailer to jack-knife and leak fuel, stranding a number of cars behind it.

All lanes of traffic from Virginia to Jenkins were shut down for several hours before finally reopening around 3 yesterday afternoon.
