Soldiers Leave For Qatar

This week, more than 150 Kentucky soldiers will leave from Owensboro to the Middle East.The National Guard says the 206th Engineer Battalion will be stationed at the US Central Command in Qatar. On Thursday, there was a special deployment ceremony at the Owensboro Convention Center.“I’m grateful for the opportunity that we get to do this and be able to do this for the Army itself,” Army SPC Gregory Weston said. “Just glad and looking forward to work and do my job for them.”Friends, family and loved ones packed the Owensboro convention center. For these guardsmen and women, that support means everything.
