State Education Leaders Discuss School Safety
Education leaders from across the Commonwealth met Tuesday in Frankfort to discuss recent improvements aimed at improving the classroom safety of Kentucky Students, according to reports.Senate Bill One, also known as The School Safety and Resiliency Act, aims to enhance school safety to ensure preparedness regardless of whatever the situation may be.”it’s hard to think about what our students must think when they do lockdown drills and you see all these stories in the news like California just last week and so it is a scary time,” says Franklin County teacher Ryan Hale.This bill is why lawmakers and community members met to discuss changes to Kentucky schools in the coming years including security upgrades and the hiring of school resource officers and counselors.
