State Of Emergency Declared In Harlan County

In Harlan County, Judge-Executive Dan Mosley has declared a state of emergency due to a mudslide. That slide is along Kentucky 72 near Pruitt’s Curve and Highway 2425 where the road is down to one lane. Mosley said a state project took place within the last two years to prevent rockslides and mudslides from occurring. In a Facebook post Mosley says more than 300 homes are impacted as a result of the slide. He’s concerned it could delay not just typical drive times but also emergency responses.
