Staying Safe In The Winter

When it comes to winter weather you will find plenty of ways to stay safe this winter.Tim Irving is the Disaster Program Specialist for Red Cross in Eastern Kentucky and he says, “The number one priority is your personal safety,”Irving also has a few tips on how to stay safe during the winter.”Trips and falls in this time of year so making sure you’re salting your driveways,” said IrvingAnd for inside your home, “Space heaters three feet away from anything in the room. Just one electrical strip and that needs to go straight into the wall.” He also recommends keeping a preparedness kit in your home. “You want to have can food and or non-perishable items as well as a manual can opener,” said Porter.
