The Compassionate Caravan Is On The Streets Of Lexington

The Compassionate Caravan started making nightly runs this week to help people on the streets who are vulnerable to the cold. The Caravan is a van sent by the Catholic Action Center. Each night it’s loaded up with donated coats, sleeping bags, and other winter gear. Volunteers then spend the night handing it out to the homeless. The Caravan can be spotted once temperatures drop into the 30’s. Some people only ask for clothes to help combat the temperatures, but volunteers also offer rides back to the Center. The homeless can spend the night there to stay out of extreme weather.
