Thermostats Recalled

White-Rodgers is recalling thousands of thermostats because of a potential fire hazard.The recall involves 135,000 thermostats. Affected thermostats will have the word “Emerson” printed on the front and a date code from 1416 to 1536 on the back. You can also contact the firm to determine if the unit is included in the recall.The recall happened because contact between the wires of the thermostat and household voltage can damage the thermostat, resulting in a possible fire-hazard. White-Rodgers says 8 reports of burn damage to the thermostat have happened. No injuries have been reported. Minor property damage is the only report at this time.
