Three Ex-Leslie Co. Sheriff’s Office Employees Indicted

Three now-fired workers of the Leslie County Sheriff’s Office are under indictment.

Two former clerks, Dawn Fortney and Brianna Bowling, are accused of falsely adding overtime hours.

One former deputiy, Jeremy Lewis, allegedly stole more than $11,000 worth of equipment from the sheriff’s office.

The two women have already been released- Bowling paid nearly $1700 in restitution, Fortney is free on bond.

Lewis apparently admitted to the thefts as he was being transported to jail.
