Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest of Escaped Knox Co. Inmate

A simple traffic stop in Barbourville Friday ended with police arresting an inmate that had just escaped from the Knox County Detention Center.

Around 745 yesterday morning, police went to stop a car on South Main Street for several traffic violations.
The driver took off, and a chase ensued heading towards Bell County. 22-year old Devin Mills eventually wrecked his Pontiac on a curve and was arrested.

His passenger, 37-year old Bobby Hamilton of Pineville, had just escaped from jail. Both are now behind bars.
