UofK Receives Record Donation

The University of Kentucky announced the acceptance of an incredible gift Tuesday.The $10 million gift, from Mira and Don Ball, is the largest financial gift the university has ever received. It will go directly to the UK Leads program, which stands for leveraging economic affordability for developing success.It’s a program aimed at addressing the unmet financial need of students.Their gift will fund dozens of undergraduate and graduate scholarships in Nelson and Henderson counties, where Mira and Don grew up.After graduating from UK and running a successful company, Ball Homes, the couple had planned to give to the university.Don Ball, passed earlier this year but Mira carried on his wishes of giving in a lasting, sustaining, and building way.
