VFW Blanket Drive

The VFW post in Whitesburg is currently hosting a blanket drive that they will give to Veterans at the Eastern Kentucky Veterans Center in Hazard and other disabled Veterans in nursing homes. An organizer says “What is really great part is it’s not only blankets that have been purchased but there’s also some brand new handmade quilts in there. So that means people took a little extra love to make sure that these blankets went to the right people.” The fundraiser started October 15th and the deadline to donate is December 1st with distribution starting shortly after for an early Christmas present.
